      Possible charging speeds range from…

… normal with AC (alternating current), to fast with DC (direct current), to extra-fast with HPC (High Power Charging).

The easiest way to determine the prices at any charge point is…

… is to look at the app, your Mercedes EQ head unit or the map. Check the price information for each charging station and tariff even before you start the charging event.

Why are there blocking fees applied to my charging sessions?

Blocking fees are applied for the following reasons:

      1. Encouraging fair use of charging stations
        • In general, blocking fees are raised by the operators of the charge points to encourage drivers to remove their fully charged vehicle from the charging station, so another car may be charged.
      2. Avoiding misuse of parking spaces
        • Some charging stations might be located in parking lots where parking fees apply for gasoline cars but not for EVs during charging. In order to discourage EV drivers from using these spots as free parking spots after the car is fully charged, operators of charge points might raise blocking fees.
        • There could also be car parks, such as shopping centres, where you need to pay parking fee upon entrance of their premises, as well as blocking fee if your vehicle occupies the charge point for longer than 90 / 120 / 180 minutes, depending on the station's conditions.
      3. Maximising efficiency at High Power Charging (HPC) stations
        • Lastly, High Power Charging Stations can quickly charge one car after the other and thus should not be blocked by a car that is fully charged as it would defeat their purpose.

      Additional notes:

      • Blocking fees vary depending on the charge point operator and local regulations.
      • Always check station-specific policies in your MB.CHARGE Public app or charging card terms before starting a session.

What does the rebranding of MB.CHARGE Public service mean (previously known as Mercedes me Charge service)?

We are excited to inform you that Mercedes me Charge will soon be rebranded to MB.CHARGE Public. This change will take effect on March 14, 2025. Here’s everything you need to know about this update.

      1. What is changing?

Starting on March 14, 2025, the Mercedes me Charge service will officially become MB.CHARGE Public. The name change will be reflected in the app and head units. While the name will change, there will be no changes to the service itself. You can continue to enjoy the same service as before.

      2. Do I need to do anything?

No, you don't need to take any action. The change will happen automatically in your app and head unit, but it may take a little longer to appear depending on your head unit generation.

      3. Will my charging card still work?

Yes, your existing charging cards with the Mercedes me Charge branding will remain valid and can still be used just as before. The change to MB.CHARGE Public will not affect your charging cards in any way.

      4. What about my contract and ongoing promotions?

Your contract, the duration of your active service, and any ongoing promotions will remain unchanged. The rebranding only affects the service name, not the terms of your agreement.

      5. Are the Terms and Conditions changing?

Yes, the Terms and Conditions will be updated to reflect the new service name. They will now be called MB.CHARGE Public Terms and Conditions. You can view the updated terms here: Revised Terms and Conditions. Other than the name change, there is no further change to the content.

      6. When will I see the name change in my app and head unit?

The update will be made centrally to your app and head unit around March 2025. Depending on the version of your head unit, it may take a little longer for the change to appear.

      7. Is there anything else I should know?

No, everything else about your MB.CHARGE Public service remains the same. You can continue charging your vehicle as usual without worrying about any interruptions or changes.
